Question: why is it that the earth is magnetic yet when it rotates around its own axis no electric current is generated?
Asked by 598green29 to Munga, Mary, Loice, George, George, Diana on 30 May 2019.
answered on 30 May 2019:
The magnetic field of the earth is generated by iron inside its core. Until we can drillinto the outer and inner core to measure Eddy currents we cannot know for sure if electricity is generated or not and how much of it is there.
